Louis Vuitton's latest collaboration with Japanese artist Takashi Murakami, called the Cosmic Blossom Collection, is causing some serious buzz. Murakami is responsible for the fabulous Louis Vuitton Multicolore Monogram line, which I adore, so I couldn't wait to take a look at their most recent collaboration. Unfortunately, in my humble opinion, this new line of Louis Vuitton handbags isn't quite the parade of masterpieces that the Multicolore line was.These new Louis Vuitton handbags feature Murakami's Superflat artwork under a heritage Louis Vuitton signature printed on glossy vinyl in vibrant colors. To be fair, I do like the label. In fact, I think it's gorgeous, and so is the print, but EEEK! Too much bubblegum! What were they thinking with those colors? Nothing against the color pink, but these handbags look positively radioactive. The only people I could see wearing these are Miley Cyrus and the tweens that adore her. I got rid of my Barbie dolls-well, most of them-decades ago, and my love of over-the-top, in-your-face, bubblegum colors went out the door with them.
